HOW to Build a LEGO Duck - Part 2
Building Stories out of LEGO bricks
We take our duck building to the next level and add story building.
Explore the power of metaphor in LEGO Serious Play through this thought-provoking duck building demonstration. This narrated video showcases various duck creations that represent different emotions and scenarios, illustrating how 'the builder is never wrong' when telling their story. Learn how LSP encourages succinct storytelling through visual metaphors, making complex ideas accessible and engaging. Ideal for facilitators, innovation coaches, and workshop leaders looking to enhance communication and creative problem-solving through hands-on LEGO methodology
In our last video we built a duck out of 6 LEGO bricks and learned that most people will build slightly different ducks based on their nuanced perspective.
Now we add in the idea of story building. By allowing our duck to tell a story, we can convey complex information in an easy way.
For example - If you were asked what you were most excited about, and to build a duck to represent that, what would you build?
Some people are excited about something in their future, like a job or opportunity on the horizon. They might build a duck that is standing tall or leaning forward to show progress or excitement.
Others may build a laid back duck - for a relaxing weekend or evening in.
Yet others build ducks that look like airplanes to show excitement over an upcoming trip.
The key here is that the builder is never wrong and the pieces can hold whatever meaning is assigned to them.
What would you build?
